Which can MAKE OR BREAK an interview………………………….
THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING ON TIME
Be at the venue at least 20- 25 minutes before the scheduled interview time. Traffic, is something that the interviewer assumes you have planned for.
KEEP PEOPLE INFORMED
Despite your efforts if there is an unavoidable delay in making it to an interview on time please call and update the co-ordinator. Don’t merely sms, as that might go unnoticed.
YOUR ATTIRE SPEAKS VOLUME
Even if the interview is on a weekend please ensure that you are appropriately dressed. The interviewer can get away with being casual, not you. Your attire will be treated as being indicative of the esteem and importance you accord to the interview.
DON’T DISTRACT THE INTERVIEWER
We are always multitasking and in a hurry. Sometimes small things get missed out .If you’ve had a meal, a snack or a coffee prior to the interview please do check your reflection properly to ensure that you face or clothes do not still bear testimony to your meal .You don’t want to distract the interviewer from what you will be saying.
Don’t forget the fresh mints .Chewing gum during an interview, is absolutely avoidable.
If the interview is in a coffee shop, even if hungry don’t order anything elaborate. Stick to a water or coffee as far as possible.
SILENCE IS GOLDEN
Technology is an inherent part of our lives. However this can be a bane at times. Phones ringing in a theatre might be excused. Their ringing in place of worship, result in looks of contempt for the person. Similarly your phone ringing or beeping during the interview will be viewed with disdain and will be looked at unfavourably.
